Data We Collect and How We Collect It

• Account and profile data you provide, such as your name, email address, learning preferences, and sign-in identifiers.
• Study activity created while you use the app, such as plans, tasks, focus sessions, quiz activity, progress, and feature usage.
• Content you intentionally submit, including Mentor messages, documents, photos, audio, voice transcripts, and relevant study-plan context.
• Purchase and entitlement information received from Apple and RevenueCat, such as product identifiers, subscription status, and restore status.
• Limited technical records needed to authenticate requests, protect the service, enforce usage limits, investigate failures, and prevent abuse.

Data comes directly from information you enter, actions you take in the app, device features you choose to permit, sign-in providers you choose, and purchase records supplied by Apple.

How We Use Data

AuraStudy uses this data to create and sync study plans, run focus and practice features, provide Mentor and other AI-assisted features, process selected files and media, provide audio and voice features, validate subscriptions, respond to support requests, secure the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical failures. AuraStudy does not sell personal data and does not use third-party advertising tracking.

AI Processing and Your Permission

AuraStudy uses OpenAI as its third-party AI provider. Before AuraStudy sends personal data or user content to OpenAI, the app identifies OpenAI, describes the data that may be sent and its purpose, and asks for your explicit permission. If you decline, you can continue using non-AI features.

You can withdraw permission at any time under Settings > Data > AI processing by OpenAI. Turning it off prevents future AI requests from being sent to OpenAI unless you enable the feature again.

Service Providers and Data Sharing

AuraStudy shares only the data needed for the services below. We require service providers that handle user data to provide the same or equal protection described in this policy and required by applicable law.

Camera, Photos, Microphone, and Speech Recognition

These protected resources are requested only when you choose the related feature. For example, the camera can photograph a textbook page or handwritten notes for attachment to Mentor; the microphone and speech-recognition permission can turn a spoken study question into text or support a voice interaction. You can deny or change these permissions in iOS Settings.

Retention and Deletion

Account and study data is generally retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the feature. Temporary OpenAI file copies used to process attachments are deleted after the response when processing succeeds, with fallback cleanup for failed requests. Limited security, transaction, deidentified, or legally required records may be retained for an appropriate period.

From Settings you can export data, reset study data, and start account deletion. Account deletion removes the account, associated database records, and stored user files through AuraStudy's deletion flow.

International Processing and Security

Service providers may process data in countries other than your own. AuraStudy uses access controls, encrypted network transport, and provider agreements intended to protect data during processing and storage. No system is completely risk-free, so AuraStudy limits data sharing to what is needed for the requested feature.
